Nature Reserve Hedge Planting

Posted: 29th January 2015

Join in to help plant 350 native hedge saplings on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February.

When we first established the nature reserve, we negotiated to retain a short section of the wire fence from the recent flood defence works as a short term boundary, with the long term plan to plant native hedgerow as a boundary and take down the wire fence when the hedge is established.

Our conservation leader, Jo Hartley, has secured the saplings to come in time for a planting event on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th, but also we need some help to do some preparation work on Saturday 31st January. Please just turn up if you can help on any of these three days, any time from 10am, just meet at the nature reserve, which is at the north end of Balfour Street (the opposite end to the Jubilee Pub).
